When I was a child, I remember my father Jimmy Smith saying:
"When you're dead, you're dead. That's it!... Don't you think if people could come
back and tell us differently, they would have by now?"
I remember how sad that statement made me feel. I just knew he was wrong!
Dad passed away in 1983. Now he leaves me dimes.
.... That life goes beyond "death" is much more than a belief for me. It is a knowing.

Treasures from your departed loved ones
are all around you. Tune in! The more you
understand, the more they'll send to you.
To Madeline Smith with love
From your “little flower” Sharon Porter

Mother’s Day 2001
Chocolate ice cream packed with love
Back rubs with a purple glove
Blowing kisses in the night
God bless you and hold you tight
Ever in His loving hands
Safely ‘til we meet again
I love you more than words can say
That’s why I come here every day
To comfort and to be with you
There’s nothing I would rather do
Mother’s Day 2002
Pennies from Heaven??
You send me six cents
Small purple flowers
And wrappers of red
A six week old sports page
From the day that you passed
And pine needles to bonk me
On the head just for laughs
Your sense of good humor
And love still shine through
When feathers float upward
I know that it’s you
Two weeks before Christmas
You passed away
And I can't be with you
On this Mother's Day
But, your messages prove
In so many ways
That you are with me
And that you're ok
Thank you mom for eternal love
Thank you Awesome GOD above
For allowing mom to let me know
That life and love forever grow

Mother’s Day 2005
For my "other mother" Hazel

When the last parent has gone
The holidays take on
A different shape and feel
Of happy... sad... surreal
The crushing reality that you are not here
And the Spiritual knowing that you are
The bittersweet sadness of missing your hug
And the joy that you've ascended so far
And so my sweet little hummingbird
As the last parent, you have gone
To drink cola with your husband
In the realm that lies beyond
Never one to say goodbye
“Take it easy” is what you said
I love what you do with the number 9
Girl, you’re anything but dead!

Noveda Hugs

Noveda could hug you
From across the room
With her loving gaze
Honest, humble, sweet and true
Our Noveda -- Ed’s “Doll Face”
Now our Father has called her Home
She is free of this Earthly pain
Have no doubt she is hugging you still
From a slightly “Higher” plane

So Long
What’s so good about goodbye?
“So long” seems a better phrase
Death is not the final stage
It’s just another phase
From physical to totally free
To be wherever you want to be
Without the limits of a body
Defying space and time
I say “so long” as you die
For it will feel so long to me
Until our glad reunion
That for you will be a blink
We will meet again, my love
This I know for sure
Death is not the final stage
It’s just an open door
You have gone though
As will I, when my time is due
I will say “it’s been so long”
And you’ll say “I never left you”

For Bart, our beloved Bernese Mountain Dog,
and for all humans and all creatures great and small
now in Spirit who have graced us with their love.
“The Knowing”
Dear Heart do not weep for me
Although “They” say I am deceased
Know that I will always be
Just a thought away
I live on through eternity
Even though you can’t see me
Know that I will always be
Just a thought away
I will let you know I’m here
“My” scent, a coin, a song appears
Know that I will always be
Just a thought away
I may visit in a dream
Believe the signals you receive
Know that I will always be
Just a thought away
Where Love enters, it does not leave
This is what I wish for Thee:
Know that I will always be
Just a thought away

For Bertha and for John Edward
Grief
Honor your grief
It is your own
Your loved one has gone
To another home
Far from your sight
Into the light
Where you too shall go
When the time is right
Honor your grief
It is your own
Your loved one has gone
To another home
Gone from your sight
Both far and near
At home in the light
The light is right here
Honor your grief
It is your own
Your loved one has gone
To another home
There is no time limit
There are no rules
Honor the feelings
That come to you
